The Great Nordic Beardfest and the Boathouse Brewpub present check to the Ely Food Shelf

The Great Nordic Beardfest and the Boathouse Brewpub present check to the Ely Food Shelf for $250.00.

Money was collected from jars in the Ely community along with donations from the Great Nordic Beardfest and the Boathouse Brewpub.  The Ely Food shelf is the annaul beneficiary of efforts during the 4th annual Great Nordic Beardfest (a part of the Ely Winter Festival).

This year saw a committee formed for the Great Nordic Beardfest, as well as a community social club, The Black Hat Society which will focus on doing positive action in the community. The GNB, also joined the Adopt-a-Highway program in St Louis County near Winton for spring and fall trash clean ups.

The great Nordic Beardfest looks to expand with a kids event, and a team based event aimed primarily at locals through a local tavern crawl. Beardfest expansion will see further integration and additions to the Winter festival. New events and other non beard activities are also on the horizon coming from the Super Mega Beast Production Co. run by Shaun Chosa.
